Our Basecamp stay at The Sleep Explorer sleeps four people in a double bunk bed within one LandPod. This fully kitted pod has access to a customised outdoor kitchen, gas hobs and a sink with running water. There is also a wood-fired pizza oven for our guests to enjoy after a day in the wilderness. Our sheltered picnic table is also perfect for those who want to find a place to cover during those rainy days. The Basecamp promises to be the perfect destination for your next Leicestershire holiday.
The Basecamp is more of a back-to-basics camping experience rather than glamping. Based in the East Midlands countryside, this pod is surrounded by spectacular woodland which can be seen whilst falling asleep. Although the Basecamp does have access to lighting and a socket for recharging your phone. In the morning guests can enjoy the slide-out table and chess board within the pod, whilst taking in these impressive surroundings.

At The Sleepy Explorer, we are very mindful of the environmental impact that we have whilst providing our forest retreat getaways. When staying at the Basecamp, you will use a composting loo with a bucket of sawdust which is far better for the environment. We also provide compost, recycling and disposal bins. Feel refreshed in the morning with a private warm shower in the wilderness. We'll also provide you with a welcome hamper including the basics, bread, milk, butter, eggs, biscuits, and soft fruit. We provide all the bedding, towels and amenities (minus your toothbrush!). Out of all of our woodland retreat pods, The Basecamp is the most secluded, boasting its own entrance and steps, providing the feeling of complete isolation. If you have extra family members and would like to pitch a tent for the kids, just let us know! Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements like 'gluten-free' or if you have any special requests.
