The Globe is the highest tree-tent in the UK, situated in a charming 2-acre patch of woodlands, surrounded by rolling fields and many beautiful walks. To make your treehouse holiday in the rich forests of the East Midlands even more memorable, we have specifically opted for no Wi-Fi. This is so that you can truly enjoy this special time with your loved ones, completely switch off and simply enjoy the nature around you, or snuggle up with a warm drink by the fire.
To make your luxury staycation here at The Sleepy Explorer even more unforgettable, we provide a hamper with the basics, such as butter, milk, bread, eggs, biscuits and fruit, oh... and a few marshmallows for toasting! If you require anything else, just let us know and we'll get that sorted for you. Please inform us prior to your stay if you have any dietary or allergen requirements, this is so we can amend the hamper to your needs.
Due to our immense passion for wildlife and the environment, we aim to keep our services low impact. This is to help preserve our great woodlands here in Leicester, East Midlands. So, you'll have a state-of-the-art composting loo with a freshly replenished bucket of sawdust and a fully operational hot shower, equipped with a stunning view of the surrounding Leicestershire countryside and woodlands. The electricity is from a green energy provider investing in renewable sources until we can put a self-sustaining system in place.
Two other pods share the woods, but each has enough space to feel very secluded and quietly intimate; creating a truly unique and unforgettable forest retreat. We respectfully ask guests to keep the noise down as our ethos is to provide a relaxing and restorative stay, that allows people time and space to reconnect with each other and with the nature around them.
A Treehouse Holiday To Remember…
The Globe itself is snug and cosy, comfortably sleeping up to three people. Inside, there is one fold-out double bed and one fold-out single bed. The duvets will be made prior to your arrival, but the beds will be tucked away when you arrive to allow you to enjoy the space and administrate yourselves. Simply, open the cupboards for the beds to rest on, put on a bottom sheet and snuggle up.
For those colder nights, there is a mini wood burner for your ultimate comfort, and the Globe glamping treehouse pod is fully insulated so usually, just the occupants' body temperature is enough to keep it at that perfect sleeping temperature.
Basic cooking provisions include two gas burners, a completely operational Belfast sink with warm running water, an outdoor wardrobe full of useful pots, cutlery and other bits and bobs you may need including condiments.
If your arrival is due in the wetter winter months, we recommend that you bring wellies and plenty of warm clothing, as the main space for cooking and relaxing is outside under tarps.
